En effet L\u00e9on Foucault d\u00e9montra en  la rotation de la terre via l\u2019oscillation du plan horizontal de son pendule. La d\u00e9monstration bien que limpide pose cependant un autre probl\u00e8me lorsque l\u2019on mesure le dispositif sur une longue p\u00e9riode puisque le pendule d\u00e9vie des p\u00f4les. Il semble en effet que cette d\u00e9rive presque imperceptible soit le fait d\u2019une attraction plus puissante et plus lointaine. Le myst\u00e8re s\u2019installe lorsque qu\u2019en pointant le pendule vers les objets g\u00e9ants c\u00e9lestes (soleil, \u00e9toiles, centre de notre galaxie, etc.) la d\u00e9rive perdure. La meilleure hypoth\u00e8se faite par les scientifiques pour expliquer cette \u00e9nigme est que l\u2019attraction subie par le pendule est le fait du rayonnement fossile, \u00e9mis lui-m\u00eame il y a 13,5 milliards d\u2019ann\u00e9e \u00e0 la naissance de l\u2019univers. Ici la science devient supposition et l\u2019art peut donc s\u2019emparer du ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne. VDB en profite pour exprimer ces th\u00e8mes de pr\u00e9dilection (perception du temps, \u00e9ph\u00e9m\u00e8re&amp; infini, quadrature cercle), en cr\u00e9ant toute sorte de pendules, tous capables de mouvements diff\u00e9rents dont Les \u00c9chos se tracent dans le sable. Certains dispositifs permettent m\u00eame des mouvements contradictoires qui en s\u2019alternant cr\u00e9ent des jeux d\u2019ellipses crois\u00e9s capables de dessin\u00e9s des suites de carr\u00e9s. Une forme de quadrature du cercle r\u00e9solue par la mati\u00e8re\u2026<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>(*)<em>Pour bref rappel l\u2019exp\u00e9rience du Pendule men\u00e9e par L\u00e9on Foucauld en  est un dispositif scientifique qui fut accroch\u00e9 sous la vo\u00fbte du Panth\u00e9on de Paris et qui est la premi\u00e8re d\u00e9monstration physique, et non th\u00e9orique, de la rotation de la Terre et du ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne d\u2019attraction polaire qui en d\u00e9coule. Le dispositif consiste en un filin de 60m au bout duquel se balance une sph\u00e8re fich\u00e9e d\u2019une tige qui pointe vers le sol, le tout cern\u00e9 par un anneau de sable de 5 m de diam\u00e8tre. Lorsque le pendule se balance sa trajectoire croise l\u2019anneau de sable dans sa circonf\u00e9rence. A chaque balancement l\u2019anneau de sable est coup\u00e9 donc deux fois par la tige plac\u00e9e sous la sph\u00e8re. Apr\u00e8s quelques allers-retours, on peut constater que le plan du pendule oscille horizontalement car dans sa course pendule tranche dans le sable une faille qui s\u2019\u00e9largit. Parall\u00e8lement \u00e0 la dimension un peu magiques et envoutantes de ces pierres qui oscillent et trace le sable en silence, s\u2019ajoute le dialogue entre le silex et le sable. Le filin est remplac\u00e9 ici par une corde de chanvre tress\u00e9, et fait le lien entre les deux objets. Tant\u00f4t la corde semble se d\u00e9faire et s\u2019ouvrir comme une voile, tant\u00f4t sa tresse serr\u00e9e porte la pierre, marquant le passage entre le vide et le plein. Le poids de la pierre tend la voile, qui a son tour peut tenir la pierre sur la pointe. Les deux \u00e9l\u00e9ments ainsi reli\u00e9s trouvent toujours un \u00e9quilibre dont l\u2019harmonie est la clef. Voile et silex installe un syst\u00e8me en parfaite interd\u00e9pendance.
