At the beginning, always two antagonists. An urban element or process is forced into an alliance with a natural element or process. From this clash is born either an installation or an object. And from these stagings, from these forced marriages, there emanates sometimes a perfume of absurdity, sometimes of poetry or even of violence… it doesn’t matter, it is the impossible divorce of these actors that is always the subject.

Urban fossils(stone, cast iron or patinated bronze)

The sculptures in this series imitate the natural process of fossilization, but take as their subject an urban object (tire or tire track, worker’s boot track). In addition to the gesture of staging futuristic fossils, the idea is to force nature and culture into a single harmonious object at a time when these two actors are tending to dissociate.

Mutants, urban motifs, urban fruits

Following the same principle, the objects and installations in this urban series combine in a single object a natural material in an urban composition (square pear tree, acacia wheel, laminated rock) or the opposite, an urban material reconstituting a natural element (crosswalk flowers, mechanical star).

Compressions

This series consists of a set of formwork that attempts to rationalize the chaotic forms of nature (cube of dead leaves, urban trees). Sometimes the reasoning is pushed further, to the point of abstraction, or in a Pop Art-inspired gesture, urban elements bypass nature and become the new subjects (road cubes, bike path cubes, crosswalk cubes).
